Monofos®
Monammonium Phosphate for Animal and Poultry Feed

Monofos® is a feed-grade monoammonium phosphate. It is produced by reacting anhydrous ammonia with defluorinated wet process phosphoric acid. It is a source of highly available phosphorus (P) and non-protein nitrogen (NPN) that will help meet animal requirements for these essential nutrients.

Benefits:

  • Monofos® is a unique combination of highly available phosphorus and readily available nitrogen for all ruminant animals.
  • Monofos® is a source of crude protein equivalent for ruminants.
  • Monofos® is safe and efficient. Its nitrogen is buffered by phosphate permitting improved nitrogen utilization in the rumen.
  • Monofos® is a source of highly available phosphorus for all non-ruminant animals.
  • Monofos® is high in phosphorus content. Its guaranteed minimum 24% P provides flexibility and economy in formulations. It is ideal in the manufacture of low or no calcium feeds and mineral products.
  • Monofos® is available by rail, truck or vessel in bulk or in 50 lb. (22.7 kg) multi-wall, moisture proof bags.

Feed Label Information:

When adding Monofos® to feeds, "monoammonium phosphate" should appear on the feed label. Monoammonium phosphate is an ingredient listed as a "Generally Recognized as Safe" (GRAS) by the Food and Drug Administration.

Directions For Use - Ruminants:
Use as a source of phosphorus and equivalent crude protein. Equivalent crude protein from Monofos® should not exceed 2% of the total daily ration.

Directions For Use - Non-Ruminants:
Use only as a source of phosphorus, the nitrogen being an inert ingredient. Inert nitrogen from Monofos® should not exceed 0.2% of the total daily ration. When incorporated into a feed for non-ruminants its label must carry a statement that the nitrogen is nutritionally unavailable to the non-ruminant. If a premix, concentrate or supplement for ruminants contains more than 2% equivalent crude protein from Monofos® or if a premix concentrate or supplement for non-ruminants contains more than 1.25% equivalent crude protein from Monofos®, then the label must contain adequate directions for use, and a proper warning statement on the label.
